Autodesk Rendering

In the spring of 1990 I discovered the wonderful world of CADD (Computer Aided Design & Drafting)

My very first introduction to CADD was Cadkey on a 286. It was very exciting as I had never used a vector based drawing program. It was for a class on drafting. The actual coursework was on the board but I spent my lunches in the room using Cadkey. Then we got a copy of AutoCAD and that set my future in stone. It was much better that Cadkey allowing you to type commands in just like you were in DOS. Then for the large purchase our institution also received one copy each of AutoSHADE, Animator & AutoSOLID.

Below I go into detail on each of the early Autodesk presentation and engineering packages I had the joy of using in my first years of using computers (1990 - 1992).

AutoCAD
AutoSHADE
AutoFLIX
Animator
AutoSOLID
